This new and unique cruise liner, MS CENTURY DIAMOND being launched in 2008, will see service on Asia’s longes of the Yangtze, between Yichang and Chongqing. Immediately on embarking you will be impressed by the huge, lig decks and crowned with a glass cupola. Except for the Sun Deck all other decks can be accessed by two glass lifts.
Technical Details
The spacious cabins are equipped to the standard of an international 5-star hotel. Each cabin has its own balcony and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. It is equipped with satellite-TV, hair dryer, safe, telephone and an individual air-con- ditioning system. The deluxe cabins are 23 square metres in size (including the balcony), whilst the Junior Suites have 31 square metres of space. Both cabin categories have twin hotel- size beds which can be put together. The two Diamond Suites on Deck 3 are 45 square metres in area and have a separate bedroom with a king- size bed. The bathtub has a whirlpool function and there is also a DVD player in the lounge. Besides the balcony there is also a private Sun Deck with a forward-facing view and sun-beds. Junior- and Diamond Suite have a minibar. Facilities on board Main Restaurant, à-la-carte Restaurant, Pano- rama Lounge and bar, an extensive foyer, Shop, beauty salon with massage, sauna, fitness room, Reading Room, one Internet corner, two lifts accessing Decks 1-5, Sun Deck with loungers, plus the Cigar Lounge for smokers. A Doctor is on call throughout the cruise, trained in both Western and Chinese treatments. Restaurant / Cuisine Those meals, which are included in the price, are served in the main Restaurant on Deck 2. Enjoy the large, Western style, buffet choice for Break- fast. Lunch is also served buffet-style, with a wide choice of European and Chinese dishes. Dinner is served at table. The à la carte Restau- rant on the Sun Deck serves a large choice of European meals. Tables in this Restaurant can be booked on board for a supplementary price. We offer a wide range of on board activities, including Tai-Chi, plus an insight into Chinese art and into Chinese calligraphy. There are also board games, tables for Mahjong, as well as a Reading Room with a small library. We also show films and organise performances of tradi- tional arts and music. Payment on board The on board currency is the Yuan, which can be bought on board. At the end of the cruise you are able to settle your on board account in cash or with a major credit card (VISA/Mastercard/ American Express). We also accept Travellers Cheques. Life on board Despite its five star status life on board the MS CENTURY DIAMOND is informal. We recommend informal dress and a pullover for the cooler eve- nings. Robust and comfortable footwear is nec- essary for excursions on land. At dinner we request smart dress, although there is no strict dress code. The cruise director and the English speaking river guides are at your service throughout. As the ship has a no smoking policy, smoking is permitted only on the Sun Deck and in the Cigar Lounge.
